(Health Day News) According to a 2021 study, the chemicals in marijuana — THC, cannabidiol (CBD), and cannabinol (CBN) — can have a negative impact on other medications a person is taking.
This is due to the similar way the body processes them. So, marijuana could either increase the potency of some prescriptions or make other medications useless.
"We saw some significant inhibitions," a lead researcher said. "The concentrations we see in the lab are probably an indicator there is at least some inhibition of these enzymes in real-time.” Read more.
