(HealthDay News) Marijuana users may be more likely to develop complications from a severe type of stroke, according to a new study.
People who get the rare aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (a type of bleeding stroke), and also used marijuana up to 30 days before the stroke, were more likely to experience something even worse: a delayed cerebral ischemia.
"We're all vulnerable to a bleeding stroke or a ruptured aneurysm,” said one of the study’s senior authors.
“However, if you're a routine marijuana user, you may be predisposed to a worse outcome from a stroke after the rupture of that aneurysm." Read the rest.
