Cash Owen, described as intelligent, charming and a great cook by his family, passed away February 2017 after overdosing on heroin laced with the synthetic opioid fentanyl. He was only 22 years old.
Cash, a former student from Austin Texas’ Westlake High School, started using marijuana when he was 15 years old before turning to prescription pills. His mother, Jacy Planta, tried several times to get her son professional help.
