September is National Recovery Month when we recognize that millions of Americans suffer from addiction and other mental disorders, which can be successfully treated. Treatment allows people to live healthy and rewarding lives. During Recovery Month, participating treatment, prevention, and recovery-related organizations and associations, including Federal, state and local government agencies, will use traditional and social media to disseminate information on treatment and recovery services. The purpose is to help local communities reach people in need of help, as well as their families and friends, and encourage them to seek out available treatment and support.
