Deadly Painkiller Sneaks In To Make Syracuse Heroin Epidemic More Lethal

(Syracuse.com, Jan. 31) More bags of lethal prescription painkillers have been found mixed with heroin in Central New York, causing more overdose deaths. In 2015, fentanyl became a drug of choice to mix with heroin, and killed 11 in one county. Fentanyl is a very powerful drug used to treat pain in cancer patients, and is almost 50 times more potent than heroin.
