Young People Surprised By Risky Synthetic Drugs They Considered Safe

(NPR, Jan. 23) Synthetic marijuana, also known as Spice or K2, is not marijuana at all. It's dried plant matter sprayed with a chemical that claims to give the same high as marijuana does. However, since its origins are unknown, teens are suffering near-fatal or fatal overdoses while believing the whole time that it was a "safe" product.
