(The Daily Courier, April 10) In early October 2015, Kiley DeMond came home to find her 20-year-old son Trip dead in his bedroom. He had taken a lethal dose of fentanyl, a painkiller that's hundreds of times more powerful than heroin. He had started experimenting with drugs in his early teens, to take off the edge, and quickly moved from marijuana to Ecstasy, LSD, Xanax, cocaine, and synthetic narcotics. He participated into an out-of-state rehab program by his senior year, and for a while, seemed like he was back to normal. But then he relapsed.
