Parents Urged to Use Drug Lockboxes to Keep Teens Away From Narcotics

(WATE.com, May 7) Parents play a role in a teen's opioid abuse, whether they know it or not. Leaving leftover narcotics in the house makes it easy for teens and their friends to access them. In fact, more than 50 percent of teens who have abused opioids say they got them from a parent's medicine closet. Opioid overdose, however, has killed more than 1,200 in Tennessee alone last year. For that reason, doctors are urging parents to lock up prescription medications in the home or safely dispose any unused prescription painkillers. READ MORE.
