Appearance of Potentially Fatal Synthetic Drug in Ohio has Pennsylvania on Alert

(Why Y, Aug. 15) Ohio is experiencing a tainted heroin that has caused a surge in overdoses and deaths. Carfentanil, a synthetic drug that's 1,000 times stronger than heroin and 10,000 times stronger than morphine, has been cut into batches of heroin. The drug is typically used to sedate or put down large mammals such as elephants and bears.
