'This is Unprecedented': 174 Heroin Overdoses in 6 Days in Cincinnati

(Chicago Tribune, Aug. 29) Cincinnati experienced a rash of overdoses that surged from 30 to 78 to 174, a number health officials called "unprecedented." They believe that a bad batch of heroin mixed with carfentanil, a tranquilizer used for large animals such as elephants. It's 100,000 times stronger than morphine.
