(The Stamford Advocate, Sept. 22) Connecticut's seen its fair share of heroin overdoses—244 so far this year. Even in wealthy Fairfield County, several teens have fallen victim to heroin addictions. They're affluent, athletic, popular, and good students - the unexpected type, whose families have tried everything, everywhere, to get their child help. Some say it's the pressure for these kids to succeed that make them turn to drugs in the first place. Others say it's common for younger siblings to hang out with older ones, drinking and smoking weed. A few might experiment with Adderall to keep up with studying. That's where the habits begin.
