Doctors, Physicians Groups Oppose Marijuana Question

(The Herald News, Oct. 4) Physicians in Massachusetts issued a statement against the legalization of marijuana in the state, citing increased accessibility to teens whose use of marijuana can damage their developing brains. While the law would make it only legal to adults, requires stricter labeling and packaging, and bans consumption in public, it would fall into the hands of teens and, potentially, children. Marijuana edibles would be more widespread and available, and its appealing look in the form of cookies and candy would attract small children and sicken them.
