High Schools Get Frank With Teens on Heroin Epidemic

(US News, Oct. 17) Some high schools nationwide are being proactive about educating teens on heroin and prescription painkillers. This comes in the wake of the heroin epidemic in which use has more than doubled since 2002 among young adults 18 to 25. In West Virginia, one high school partnered with a local hospital to form a club. Each week, members learn about drug use and addiction and help educate students about preventing drug abuse. As so many students witness what's going on in their community and know someone personally who is suffering from drug abuse, each is wanting to help out and make a difference. READ MORE.
