Treatment center sees spike in cold medicine abuse

(The Bulletin, Nov. 4) Teens and children experiment with cold medicine as drug abuse because they think it's safe. But according to a program director for an adolescent treatment center, it's not. She's seen six kids already admitted for abusing cough and cold medicine that contains dextromethorphan. Kids drink large quantities of it for a high.
