Last Updated: Saturday March 19, 2022
Educators! Make sure you check out DEA and Discovery Ed’s Operation Prevention site for exciting new interactive resources to teach kids about the dangers of heroin and opioid addiction.
They include:
- The Science of Addiction Student Learning Module: Using the stories of 3 teens, this interactive module allows students to investigate the impacts of heroin and prescription opioids on the brain and body through a self-paced scientific exploration.
- Elementary School Lesson: Joining the middle and high school lessons, Proactive Prevention, a new lesson and educator guide for an elementary school audience, explains how medications work in our bodies and why it is important to use them responsibly.
- Extended Parent Toolkit: Now available with discussion starters for elementary age students.
- Spanish Resources: Operation Prevention’s website, Parent Toolkit, and new learning module are now available in Spanish.
While on the site you can also take your students on a ‘Virtual Field Trip’, and explore lesson plans for elementary, middle and high school students.
