(Kaiser Health News, November 25) Cocaine-related deaths have increased in recent years, according to the latest government numbers. In 2017, the number of Americans who died due to the drug increased 34% over the previous year.
Fentanyl may be behind the rising deaths. The powerful synthetic opioid is being mixed into cocaine (often secretly), which causes the drug to be more fatal. Read more.
