As a result of the November elections, major changes to state drug laws could be on the way.

(December 18) There were more than 81,000 drug overdose deaths between June 2019 and May 2020, according to the latest provisional numbers from the CDC.

Former DEA Administrator Robert C. (September 24) The number of young adults (ages 19-22) who regularly vape marijuana shot up between 2018 and 2019, according to the most recent Monitoring the Future study. 

(National Institute of Drug Abuse, September 15) Vaping marijuana and vaping nicotine rose sharply in the past three years among college-age (19-22 years old) adults, according to 2019 survey results from the Monitoring the Future (MTF) study.

(Scientific American, September 2020 issue) The belief that addiction is due to “moral weakness and flawed character” can be dangerous for people battling substance misuse, according to National Institute on Drug Abuse Director Nora Volkow.
