Others' Drug, Alcohol Use May Trigger Bad Behavior in Teens

(US News and World Report, Dec. 11) Young teens' behavior can be easily influenced negatively by witnessing drinking and drug use. According to a new study at Duke University, children between 11 and 15 who saw others drink alcohol or use drugs were twice as likely to engage in negative behavior such as stealing, damaging property, or hitting or hurting someone. The study acknowledged that those who grow up around drugs and alcohol were already at risk for such behaviors later in life, but this study revealed that the behavior can be immediate. READ MORE.
