(CNN, April 27) In 2015, more “drugged” drivers were involved in deadly road accidents than drunk drivers, according to a recent report from the Governors Highway Safety Association and the nonprofit Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility. Of drivers tested, 43 percent who died had drugs in their systems, versus the 37 percent of drivers who died that tested positive for alcohol. "As states across the country continue to struggle with drug-impaired driving, it's critical that we help them understand the current landscape and provide examples of best practices so they can craft the most effective countermeasures" to combat the issue of drug-impaired driving, governors association Executive Director Jonathan Adkins said.
