Young adult energy drink consumption linked with drug use

(AOL, August 9) Could drinking energy drinks lead to drug use later in life? New research out of the University of Maryland recently made that connection. The study surveyed 1,099 young people ages 21 to 25 over the course of five years. They found that those who drank high caffeine energy drinks over time – more than 51 percent – had a higher likelihood of using cocaine and non-prescription stimulants at 25 years old.
