Meth is growing in the shadow of the opioid crisis

(WLUK, September 11) While many areas in the U.S. are being hit hard by opioid addiction, Wisconsin is seeing a rise in meth use. Use of the drug jumped 250 percent between 2011 and 2015, according to a report from the state’s Department of Justice. In addition meth-related offenses jumped during that time period as well – from 327 charges in 2010 to 1,069 charges in 2014. "Our drug task force investigators are reporting that they are seeing increasingly more meth than they are heroin over the course of the last several months," one local Wisconsin Police Chief Bill Lamb told the news service.
